Project Maestro @ BTUG

For those of you who didn't have a chance to see my presentation at the Boston Tableau User Group in Feb 2018, here are my presentation resources. Enjoy! :)

Tableau Data Prep

It is often said that anywhere from 70% - 80% of an analyst's time is spent preparing data for analysis. In recent years many data prep tools have hit the market (Alteryx, Lavastorm/Dataverse, Trifacta, Unifi, Paxata, Podium, etc.). Tableau is entering this market with their new, stand alone product called Maestro. The second part of this meeting will review initial findings from the Maestro beta test program, and also offer a comparison to the leader in the data prep market, Alteryx.

Meeting Agenda

  • 5:30-6:30: Tableau Doctor, Networking and Refreshments
  • 6:30 - 7:00 Data Art, Infographics, and Business Dashboards - Steve Wexler, Tableau Zen Master
  • 7:00-7:30: Tableau Maestro Beta Test Findings - Gordon Strodel, Slalom
  • 7:30-8:00: Alteryx Overview - Jessie Clark, Fallon Health
